Sheena and Allen were great at accomadating me on my trip in early october. I needed gas for my boat and they met before they were normally open. They also had a great dinner on a night I did not want to cook. Oh yeah the fishing was great and you did not have far to go.

Allen and Sheena were incredibly friendly and helpful, having basically everything we forgot on hand. :) the cabins are adorable with a full bed and twin bunk beds, with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The best part was that each cabin has its own bathroom, so no sharing showers or waking up in the middle of the night to walk outside to the bathroom! Would've been nice to have WiFi and maybe some fly paper up to collect some of the bugs, but would definitely stay there again!

If you plan on fishing here I suppose it would be okay, although I could could hardly see the lake??? Advertised as a resort in Pierre, when in actuality, it is 28 miles north of Pierre turning into a dirt road with very poor markings as to where to turn. The "restaurant" leaves a lot to be desired. As a non smoker I found this place horrible. Large mat outside says thank you for not smoking. Inside everyone was smoking and 4 dogs. I guess South Dakota has no smoking ban and allows dogs in an eating establishment, but where I am from it is not ALLOWED. Wi-fi not working.

I have stayed at the Okobojo Resort the past two summers for an annual fishing trip with my sons. I would consider this a "guys" trip location. The resort is exactly what you see on their website. The owners are very helpful, Sheena cooked most of our meals. The fishing was excellent. There is a dock to put your boat in about a 1/2 mile from the resort. If you are looking for somewhere to sleep, with reasonable prices and great fishing this is your place.

We stayed here on a trip for my sisters wedding. We absolutely loved it. Yeah, it's a little out of the way. Yeah, you have to travel a dirt road to get there. But what would a resort be if it wasn't out in the middle of nowhere. If I wanted to stay in a hotel, I would have stayed 28 miles down the road. The owners are fantastic people and were very accommodating. Thanks for a great experience. We look forward to coming back.
