Paws goes above and beyond to ensure animals are given the best chance at life and adopted by responsible, caring owners. Please remember that animals picked up by Law Enforcement are brought to and kept at the Animal Clinic of Pierre, AKA the Pierre/Ft. Pierre pound. Animals picked up in Pierre and Hughes County are held for 5 days while Ft. Pierre pets are held only 3 days to give the owners a chance to claim their lost pet. If the owner has not claimed the animal during this time, then Paws Animal Rescue has the option to save the animal from euthanasia. Please take good care of your pets and ensure you know their whereabouts at all times.
